

The 62nd Trophée Mondial 2012 will be held in Spokane, Washington, USA from October 23-27, 2012. Experience world class accordion music in Spokane, Washington, the first city to host this prestigious event in the USA. Frédéric Deschamps (picture lower right), President of the Confédération Mondiale de l’Accordéon welcomes all to attend and participate in the 2012 Confédération Mondiale de l’Accordéon in Spokane, Washington. With the World Premiere of Web TV “Channel CMA”, it was possible to follow all seven categories of the 2011 Trophée Mondial. More than 140,000 minutes of music were viewed. All thoese videos of Trophée Mondial 2011 are available in the library of CMA Channel.
Patricia Bartell holds a B.A. in Music Education and Performance. She teaches accordion and piano full time in Spokane Washington and travels worldwide as an adjudicator, professional performer and teacher. She conducts the Spokane Accordion Ensemble, is involved in an Argentine Tango Quartet (Tango Volcado) and is the guest artist for the Hot Club of Spokane – a fantastic swing jazz group. She performs and teaches a wide variety of music. Patricia is the permanent USA delegate (and a member of the jury) for the international competition of the CMA Trophée Mondial, one of the very important international accordion competitions held annually.
The Executive Committee of the CMA also includes: Raymond Bodell – Vice President, Jacques Mornet – Secretary General, Alexander Selivanov – Chairman of the Artistic Committee and Anna Bodell – Administrator.
The CMA constantly tries to expand and has made every effort to be global since the re organization of its Executive Board in 2005. Many new delegations have joined the CMA such as Lithuania, New Zealand, Chile, China, among others: the United States – the host of the 2012 Trophée Mondial. This is the first time the Trophée Mondial will be in North America, thanks to the talent and determination of Patricia Bartell and her dedicated team.

Important information: A hosting system “homestay” has been organized for candidates who wish to be accommodated in a family home.
Candidates will therefore pay NO FEES for accommodation, food and transport to the place of the contest. Only travel costs to the Trophée Mondial will remain the responsibility of the candidate. Host families will take the candidates to the various rooms and activities of the competition and will also help them explore the city and surrounding areas at the convenience of candidates. For candidates who do not want to be housed in family homes, there is a list of hotels with special rates in the section about accommodations.
