The Brooklyn Accordion Club presents the CNIMA USA Teaching Tour Class on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 from 8:AM to 12:PM EST at South Oxford Space, 138 South Oxford St. in Brooklyn, NY.

The New York Accordion Masterclass by French renowned Accordion school the CNIMA (Centre National et International de Musique et d’Accordéon) will help to transform your playing with Jacques Mornet’s method. The method can be implemented at all levels, all styles, and all ages and is suited for piano and button accordion.

Other dates on their Accordion Masterclass teaching tour include:
1. May 30 – June 3, 2022 12:30 PM at Alliance Française in New Orleans
2. June 5th, 2-5pm at the Petosa Accordion Shop in Seattle, Washington
3. June 9th, 7pm @ Alliance Française. Accordion demonstration in Los Angeles

Jacques Mornet has taught worldwide and is the recipient of the Gus Viseur Prize and the Russian Gnessin Academy Silver Disc. Mornet’s technique lies in approaching the accordion as a wind instrument rather than a keyboard instrument. The proper use of the air column combined with the appropriate touch of the keys (i.e. half-lever/half-button technique, and playing “on the surface”), creates outstanding results that transforms one’s playing and frees musicality.

CNIMA students have enjoyed multiple successes, including having won a record 126 awards at international competitions. The school has trained several generations of finest French accordionists including Alain Musichini, Domi Emorine, Félicien Brut, Vincent Lhermet, Christine Rossi and others

CNIMA (Centre National et International de Musique et d’Accordéon) is an internationally renowned French based accordion school founded by esteemed professor Jacques Mornet and his award-winning accordionist, teacher and co-director, Nathalie Boucheix.
