On Saturday, November 1, 2025, accordionist Cody McSherry will return to the stage as he performs with the Butler County Symphony Orchestra in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Under the direction of Maestro Moon Doh, the orchestra will perform Duke Ellington’s “Black, Brown & Beige” and “Harlem”, Dimitri Shostakovich’s “Jazz Suite #2”, and Darius Milhaud’s “The Creation of the World”. Prior to the concert, Maestro Doh and Cody McSherry will have a special conversation on stage discussing, among other things, Cody’s experiences and thoughts on the accordion.

Cody McSherry is known for his versatility on the accordion, frequently performing on piano accordion, C-system chromatic accordion and diatonic “button box.”  Most recently he traveled the country with the Greater Pittsburgh Tamburitzans, an historic professional, all college student folk music and dance troupe. Cody performed with the troupe for all four years of his college career, leading the group’s musicians for the last three years. Though he was on the road with the troupe, he graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2025 with three majors and two additional certificates and is fluent or very proficient in nearly twenty languages.

Cody‘s joy in performing, composing, arranging, and bringing the accordion before the public has been fostered over the years by his involvement with his mentors, Mary Tokarski and Ron Pivovar.

The Butler County Symphony Orchestra concert will be held at the Butler Intermediate High School, 551 Fairground Hill Road., Butler, PA, on November 1, at 7:30 PM, and will be preceded by the conversation between Cody and Moon Doh at 6:30 PM.
