As contributed by Jeffrey Hursey:

“Musical talent is in no short supply at Salmen High, which is why instrument donations are so special to the school. Responding to an article asking about spare instruments, Salmen’s orchestra received an accordion donated by Ms. Irma Hillery.

As it would happen, orchestra student Gabriell Pivovaro has experience with the accordion, having played it now for about a year and a half. The accordion is now an integral part of the orchestra and newly formed polka band. The orchestra would like to give a special thanks to Ms. Irma and her generous gift.”

This is an example of how one person’s generosity and love of the accordion will educate and have a positive impact on young students and their audiences.
