“How to Play Diatonic Button Accordion, Vol. 2 ” is Published

Author Henry Doktorski’s new book, “How to Play Diatonic Button Accordion, Vol. 2” is now available. It comes with a CD which contains all of the music in the book played by Doktorski on a one-row button accordion. The book includes button charts, diagrams, and photographs of historic accordions and sheet music covers.

In volume two, accordionists can increase their knowledge and abilities, learning to play in third, fourth, fifth and sixth position and becoming acquainted with the entire range of the one-row button-accordion. Although the ability to read music is not required to study this method book, it would be helpful. Speakerphone lessons with Henry Doktorski as your teacher are available.

Henry Doktorski’s articles and letters have been printed in many prestigious publications. His reviews and articles can be read on The Classical Free-Reed, Inc. website. His pioneering research work, “The Classical Squeezebox — A Short History of the Accordion in Classical Music” was published by the British international journal, “ Musical Performance”. His most recent work, “The Brothers Deiro and Their Accordions”, is available from the The Classical Free-Reed, Inc. eBay Store.

Mr. Doktorski is a member of the advisory and editorial board for The Center for the Study of Free-Reed Instruments at the Graduate School and University Center of the City University of New York, and Pi Kappa Lambda, the academic honor society in the field of music.
