The 1st Historic Wallace Accordion Festival was held in the small mining town of Wallace, Idaho on August 12th and 13th. Wallace is a quaint, scenic town with a beautiful gazebo, which was the site of most of the performances.
The festival was two days of accordion gathering and entertainment with players ranging from 12 years and up, both amateur and professional. During the day there were workshops and there was accordion playing on all street corners!
There were concerts each evening featuring well known accordionists, Bruce Gassman, Cory Pesaturo, Big Lou, and Andy Mirkovitch with all the concerts being well attended. After the concerts, the restaurants were open late and accordionists entertained there too.
The nearby RV park, with dance floor and bar, hosted more accordion jamming enjoyed by accordionists and campers sitting in the grass and listening to the accordion music.
Be sure to mark your calendar for the 2nd week in August 2012 for the 2nd Historic Wallace Accordion Festival!
