The Delta Boyz, popular Conjunto band, recently performed on KIII 3NEWS which is the ABC affiliate in Corpus Christi, Texas, operating to serve, inform and improve communities in the Coastal Bend. The station began broadcasting in South Texas on May 4, 1964. Today, KIII 3NEWS dominates one of the fastest-growing markets in Texas. The station’s service to the community and commitment to local news and weather coverage has consistently made it the Coastal Bend’s news leader for decades.

The Delta Boyz were inducted into the Conjunto Hall of Fame in 2023 in the category of Conjunto Tradicional. They were celebrated during Tejano ROOTS Hall of Fame weekend on January 5 – 6, 2024, in Alice, Texas. The event featured a banquet, a concert, and a ceremony to honor the new members of the hall of fame.

The Tejano ROOTS Hall of Fame was established in 2000 by the Remembering Our Own Tejano Stars (ROOTS) organization. Its mission is to preserve and promote the legacy and culture of Tejano music. The hall of fame has inducted over 500 individuals and groups since its inception.

On November 23, 2023, their high school, Edcouch-Elsa ISD spotlighted The Delta Boyz all of whom attended the school. The Delta Boyz includes talented musicians Javier Gonzalez (Class of 2000), Jaime Gonzalez (Class of 2003), Eddie Gonzalez (Class of 1995), and Arturo “Tury” Alviar III (Class of 1995), The Delta Boyz have garnered widespread recognition for their exceptional musical talent and dedication to preserving the rich cultural heritage and music.

All members of The Delta Boyz are proud high school graduates of Edcouch-Elsa ISD, showcasing the district’s commitment to nurturing and empowering talented individuals. Recently, the group was notified that on January 6, 2024 they would be inducted into the Tejano Roots Hall of Fame for Conjunto Tradicional. Established in 2000, the organization’s mission is to preserve and promote the legacy and culture of Tejano music. To date, the hall of fame has celebrated the contributions of over 500 individuals and groups who have made significant impacts on the Tejano music scene.
