Caribbtion and Downtown Pijao present the group, Very Be Careful, in a Cinco De Mayo event. It takes place on Monday, May 5, 2014 at the Blipsy Barcade, 369 N. Western Ave. Koreatown, LA. Doors open at 9:PM. Admission is $10 for 21+.

Very Be Careful (VBC) is a Los Angeles band that plays Colombian vallenato music, a traditional cumbia sound that centers around the accordion, backed with percussion and bass. The group was started in 1998 in Los Angeles by accordionist Ricardo”Ricky G” Guzman and his bass playing brother Arturo “Brickems” Guzman. They were soon joined by Richard “Mil Caras” Panta on Caja Vallenata, Craig “Peabody” Martín on Guacharaca and Dante “The Rip” Ruiz on Cowbell.

They have independently released 7 full length studio albums mixed with equal parts traditional covers and original material. They have also toured Japan playing one of the largest festivals there with over 100,000 people attending in 2005, The Fuji Rock Festival as well as one of London’s largest, The Glastonbury Festival. In 2006, Very Be Careful completed a European tour. The May 5th program includes VBC plus Resident DJs Mas ó Menos, Rastagari and very special guest, Chips!

Honoring and celebrating Benito Juarez and the Battle of Puebla at the original Koreatown Barcade featuring 20 video and pinball games such as Joust, Paper Boy, Spy Hunter, 720, Gauntlet, Off Road, T2, Twilight Zone; delicious handmade cocktails such as Mojitos, Margaritas, Micheladas; and dance inducing jams from the Caribbean to Oblivion para que se den sus chanclazos toda la santa noche.
