
This year Vivant! will be performing on the Fremar Foundation’s popular Music & Merlot event which will be presented on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Bishop Spencer Place near the Country Club Plaza at 4301 Madison which is easily accessed off of Southwest Trafficway at the intersection of 43rd Street.
Vivant! members include:
Julie Silfverberg – accordion; Melody Stroth – piano; Dee Sligar – bass; Judy Johnson – flute; Karen Fremar – accordion; Janne Silfverberg – trombone/Latin percussion, and Brian Steever – drums.
The group will perform a variety program of Fremar arrangements including popular standards: ‘Come Fly with Me’, ‘Don’t Get Around Much Anymore’, Latin works: Jobim’s ‘One Note Samba’, Piazzolla’s ‘Libertango’; Stevie Wonder’s ‘You Are the Sunshine of My Life’ & ‘I Just Called to Say I Love You’, and more…including ‘Build Me Up Buttercup’, ‘More Today Than Yesterday’, ‘You Keep Me Hangin’ On’, and Karen Fremar’s haunting original to honor Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans: ‘Grasping for the Wind’. The Fremar and Silfverberg Accordion Duo will be featured performing Fremar’s ‘Monroe’.
Plan to join Vivant! and their musical friends in this intimate and comfortable setting for a 4:30 PM concert featuring some of their favorite music that includes the accordion. Grab a glass of Merlot and a soft chair and enjoy an afternoon of music and fun.
