Hanzhi Wang shares, “I have a thrilling announcement today! It is an honor to release my debut solo album; “On the Path to H.C. Andersen” by Naxos in August, which is the first accordion solo album from Naxos!

With the unique program in this album, I will take you into the ‘fairy-tale world of the accordion’. All the works are written originally for accordion by Danish composers, and I am especially excited about the world premiere recording of “Little Match Girl”, written by Martin Lohse in 2015. This piece is dedicated to me, and the loneliness and solitude feeling of the music, describes wonderfully H.C Andersens fairytale.

The idea of the CD is – despite the fact that time, life and place has passed – a remembering of the first images I got when my parents told the fairy-tales by Hans Christian Andersen. Images which has fascinated generations of children all over the world, creating dreams, hopes and creativeness. All the selected program in the CD is therefore exploring the colors and expressive sounds of the accordion, which brings you back to the memories and dreams of your childhood.

Stay tuned! The following release concerts will be in different countries and in some amazing concert halls.”
