This summer’s accordion extravaganza should be exhilarating and mesmerizing from start to finish!! Our lineup of stellar performers, workshop presenters, exhibits, opportunities to play in the orchestras, the youth jazz ensemble, the after-hours parties — and the camaraderie — should make for a wonderfully memorable festival!

With all of the changes in the world in the past 80 years, it is incredible that the AAA has remained a strong force in this country, promoting the instrument that has brought such joy to so many through the years. Please join us in beautiful Alexandria, Virginia – just outside of Washington, DC – to celebrate this momentous event with renowned performers from the US, Russia, Moldova, New Zealand, Switzerland and Argentina, as well as our world-renowned conductor of accordion orchestras, Prof. Joan C. Sommers.

A new addition to our performer list is the delightful accordionist and vocalist, Lionel Reekie from New Zealand. Also from New Zealand/Switzerland, is five time world champion accordionist Grayson Masefield, who will be giving a workshop and performing on Friday’s Gala Concert.

Local performers, Russkie Musikanti, a dazzling ensemble from the Washington Balalaika Society, will perform for the convention attendees at Friday night’s reception. Saturday evening’s banquet will feature the Festival Orchestra, under the baton of Joan Sommers, members of the US Air Force Strolling Strings, and other superb musicians who will perform in honor of our recipient of the 2018 AAA Lifetime
Achievement Award, Louis F. Coppola.
