Scandanavian-American Night Includes Accordions!

Niklas Sunden and Fredrick Aberg (see video), accordion champions from Sweden, will perform at Scandanavian-American Night Outdoor Summer Concert on Monday, June 15, 2015 at 7:30 PM.

The event takes place at the Lakeside Theatre, Eisenhower Park, East Meadow, Long Island, New York.

Also appearing will be SmorgasBandet of New York. There will be two hours of non-stop Scandinavian and American music. SmorgasBandet is a lively accordion band based on Long Island, New York specializing in Scandinavian music with American music mixed in. They do sing-a -longs, audience participation with songs and dances playing Waltzes, Schottishes, Swing music, Cha-Chas, Cajun and Polkas. Members of the group are: Jeanne Eriksson Anderson (accordion), Wayne Soderlund (accordion) , Chad Widman, Walter Eriksson, Jr. and Ingrid Olsson.

Bring lawn chairs, picnics, blankets,etc.
Admission is free for a two hour show.

Jeannie  Widman Andersen has asked LIAA members and their accordion playing friends to attend and bring their accordions for a “grand finale number” playing “Beer Barrel Polka” and “American Wooden Shoe Polka.” Join in the fun with your accordion!
