The Long Beach Bayou Festival Is Celebrating Its 29th Year!

“The 29th Annual Long Beach Bayou Festival line-up was recently announced. This festival continues to be a popular family friendly event that is fun, engaging with some top notch entertainment that celebrates the culture, music, heritage and festivals of Louisiana.

Long Beach Bayou Festival, June 20-21, 2015 takes place at the Rainbow Lagoon Park, (at Linden Ave & Shoreline Drive), Long Beach, CA.

Festival goers can expect mouthwatering Cajun and Creole cuisine, inter-active dance instructions, continuous dancing, a lively, colorful Mardi Gras Parade, a watermelon and crawfish eating contest, and plenty of activities for kids and teens. Bring the entire family, babysitter, neighbors, friends and co-workers.

The Zydeco, Cajun, Creole and Blues loving community unites each year for the Long Beach Bayou Festival at Rainbow Lagoon Park on Saturday, June 20th and Sunday, June 21st, 2015, the first day of Summer.

The festival features two stages of music featuring top notch blues, zydeco & Cajun music. The Zydeco Stage will host Grammy nominated bands Steve Riley & the Mamou Playboys, Geno Delafose & French Rockin’ Boogie, the powerhouse team of Grammy winner Joel Savoy and Cajun Hall of Famer, Jesse Lege′ with their band Cajun Country Revival, the swamp-funky Chubby Carrier & the Bayou Swamp Band, West Coast favorite T-Lou & His Hot Louisiana Zydeco Band, Bonne Musique Zydeco and David Sousa & The Mudbugs.

This stellar line-up guarantees that the large covered wooden dance floor will be constantly filled all weekend. Quick and easy dance instructions for all ages will ensure that no one is left out of the fun.

The festival also boasts a festival costumed Mardi Gras Parade led both days by the New Orleans Traditional Jazz Band, colorful French Quarter Marketplace with gumbo, crawfish etouffee, jambalaya, hush puppies. For dessert, sweet potato pie, beignets and other an array of cobblers.

The Long Beach Bayou Festival is presented by Benoit Entertainment Group. A portion of the profits will benefit LALA (Louisiana to Los Angeles), a non-profit organization which raises educational funds for local youth to attend college.
