On Sunday, October 14, 2014 from 2-4 PM the Brooklyn Accordion Club will have two special guests: Mary Tokarski, a concert accordionist, and her student Nathan Chapeton (14 years old), who will represent the U.S. and compet in ethe Junior Virtuoso Entertainment Division at the Coupe Mondiale 2014 in Austria.

Mary Tokarski will provide a workshop “TECHNIC – YOUR STYLE, YOUR WAY”, and Nathan will play his program for the competition. 

If you are interested in performing a piece or two at the meeting, please email the BAC. Beginners and first timers are welcome.

Nathan Chapeton, through the Kickstarter Fundraising Campaign, has raised the necessary funds to support his travels to Salzburg, Austria for the Coupe Mondiale 2014. Nathan has been qualified by the American Accordion Association.

His worthwhile ideal is to “Introduce the Accordion to the modern world” and keep the tradition and music of this beautiful instrument alive for the next generation. His future 4 year goal is to pursue further University studies upon completion of High School and find further grants for this.
