Anita and Bob Siarkowski

It was “Encore” for Anita and Bob Siarkowski of Plantsville, Connecticut … This year, 2014, was the husband and wife piano accordionists’ 6th consecutive year representing the U.S. A. in the international accordion festival, Carrefour Mondial de l’Accordeon in Montmagny, Quebec, Canada. The Quebecois really love and appreciate accordion music claiming that Anita and Bob Siarkowski’s coordinated, theme related outfits are unprecedented.

Montmagny’s 26th annual event ran from August 28th through September 1st, 2014 – attracting 35,000 people – including 80 musicians from the Canadian provinces of Quebec, Ontario, Newfoundland, and Nova Scotia – as well as Spain, Bulgaria, Russia, France, Serbia, Ireland, Italie, and Argentina!

Amongst the international guest artists was Mary Tokarski of Northford, Connecticut who performed in concert. This was an “encore” for Mary, having previously performed at this event with her sister, Julie and brother, Walter as “The ‘K’ Trio”.

Featured highlights of the event included exhibits, conferences, workshops, concerts, dances, the accordion museum, strolling accordionists in 10 area restaurants, and after hours jam sessions. Anita’s French heritage and high school French helped her to serve as interpreter while in the very French Canadian province of Quebec.
