Internationally acclaimed accordionist, composer, and recording artist Marco Lo Russo continues his 2013 Eclectic Accordion World Tour in the USA and Canada this month.
New York City sets the stage for Marco at Universal Studios, and several engagements in Manhattan performing with Julio Botti, saxophonist and 2013 Latin American Grammy Nominee, and Diane Cameron from Atlanta.
In Canada Marco will be performing for several Fiddich Productions including the Tango Project – in collaboration with painter Peter G. Goral, and Stretch & Breathe – a collaboration of modern accordion and modern dance with Canadian-based Saral Felschow.
Over the past 25 years, Marco Lo Russo has emerged as an internationally acclaimed and extraordinary accordionist, concert musician, composer, arranger, professor, conductor and musicologist. Marco is internationally regarded as one of the leading contemporary Italian musicians. Eclectic, diverse and extremely fond of diverse multi-ethnic and contemporary sound and rhythm, he has received top reviews by critics and continues to collaborate and innovate with top international talent including Ennio Morricone, Nicola Piovani, and Leo Brouwer amongst others.
Marco worked in collaboration with Nicola Piovani (an Academy Awards winner) on the soundtrack of the movie “Life Is Beautiful/La Vita e Bella” starring Roberto Benigni as well as collaborating with Leo Brouwer in Cuba, and delivering outstanding performances at Chiara Civello (Festival di Sanremo 2012), Dulce Pontes, and In-Grid (Europe) to name a few. He has also performed as a soloist in the USA, Europe, Canada, Cuba, and throughout Latin America including performances at some of the most prestigious theaters, festivals, international clubs (including Blue Note) and various international cultural events including the Rome National Opera Theatre, and World Vision for Pope Benedict XVI.
