The San Francisco Accordion Club invites all to their March 17, 2:PM meeting featuring Russian accordion virtuoso Josif Purits.


Purits is a 24 year-old native of Moscow, who began music studies at the age of 6. Since the age of 8, he has been winning numerous competitions, including 21 International Competitions, taking the coveted First Prize in 2009 at the 34th Edition of the Castelfidardo Internatinal Accordion Competition in Castelfidardo, Italy. 

Josif studied accordion under Andrey Ledenyov at the A.G. Schnittke Moscow State Institute of Music from 2004 to 2008.

He is presently a student of the world-renowned bayonist Friedrich Lips at the Russian Gnesins Academy of Music in Moscow. 

Iosif has done concert tours in many countries including Austria, Sweden, Finland, France, Czech Republic, China and Canada. This is his first concert tour of the United States.

The concert takes place at the Oyster Point Yacht Club,911 Marina Blvd., South San Francisco. The SFAC hosts musical programs on the 3rd Sunday of every month.
