Joanna Darrow, Director of the Acme Accordion School in Westmont, New Jersey, has organized an accordion event for November 6, 2022, to take place at the Acme Accordion School. The day is sponsored by the Scholarship Funds of Acme Accordion School and the American Accordion Musicological Society.

The day is devoted to accordion performances and presentations of interest relating to the development of the accordion. The schedule of events includes:

10:30 AM: Children’s Circle: For the young at heart. Look inside an accordion. Play an accordion. Hear an accordion.

11:30 AM: Performance by the Westmont Accordion Club

Noon: Guest artist, Rita Barnea, Editor of www.accordionusa.com, presents a lecture/concert “Eugene Ettore and his Accordion Legacy”

12:55 PM: Performance by the Westmont Accordion Club and the Westmont Philharmonia Accordion Orchestra creating music together.

1:30 PM: Presentation by Rik Kaplan. Enthusiast of the Cajun/Creole/Zydeco style techniques, he will share some history and experiments on melodeons, with a concentration on diatonic boxes.

2:30 PM: Performance by the Westmonth Philharmonia Accordion Orchestra

Historic accordions will be on display.
