
American Accordionists’ Association Board Member Frank Busso Jr. serves as the accordionist with the Air Force Strolling Strings in Washington, DC.
Sergeant Busso attended Boston University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 2001. He studied accordion with Frank Busso Sr. at the NY Staten Island Music School. Prior to joining the Air Force, Sergeant Busso was an instructor and arranger with the Boston University Athletic Bands and at the Staten Island Music School, where his students earned many regional and national titles in competition.
On the day of President Obama’s inauguration, Frank was one of six Air Force Band members selected to perform for 180 surviving members of the famed Tuskegee Airmen and their families.
Hosted by the Air Force Vice Chief of Staff and Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Forced, these military veterans enjoyed music of popular, jazz, ethnic, and patriotic styles performed by Frank’s ensemble which included violins, viola, cello, and accordion.
