The International Digital Electronic Accordion Society (IDEAS), founded by co-directors Joe Natoli and Michael Soloway, would like to announce the release of their new web site www.gr8ideas.org available for the public. The web site provides access and visibility into all sorts of things related to the digital accordion, including the IDEAS Symposium 2.0 that will be held Nov 6-9, 2019 this year at the Avalon Inn & Resort in Warren Ohio. The Avalon Inn is a beautiful resort and country club with a brand new $14M all-weather Roman Spa that will be available for this year’s activities. On the opening web page, you can see pictures from the 2018 Symposium and scroll through them at your leisure.
On the www.gr8ideas.org web site, you can also peruse this year’s Faculty (affectionately called Faculty 2.0) who will be providing stellar workshops on a highly diverse set of topics, all related to the digital world, including deep dives into programming digital instruments, beginner and advanced orchestration techniques applied to your digital instrument, using and applying Richard Noel sound sets, deep dive into using digital effects programming, digital recording techniques, creating videos with your audio recordings, using green screen effects with your videos, jazz and reharmonization techniques, individual lessons with Cory Pesaturo and other Faculty, and much much more. This year’s Faculty will include the wonderful talents in multiple stellar concerts of jazz greats Eddie Monteiro & Cory Pesaturo, the amazing digital artist Matthias Matzke, digital icons Richard Noel and Greg Volovic, co-directors Joe Natoli & Michael Soloway, Markus Baggio, Lenny Feldmann, 2-time Grammy winning sound engineer Chris Theis, and others. There will be three 8am concerts (Nov 7, 8, & 9) and two evening concerts (Nov 8 & 9).
Additionally, the web site provides a portal for registering for the Symposium and the Avalon Inn, as well as becoming a paid member of IDEAS, which ultimately gets you to a Members Only section. In the Members Only section one can explore and download sound sets and user programs (UPGs), view impromptu and concert videos from previous Symposiums, training workshops designed specifically for the site and/or from previous Symposiums, and important pictures from IDEAS in all settings including previous Symposiums. At some point in the future, training webinars will also be worked into the mix.
The site will grow continually with new content, so come back often and support this movement with a paid membership if digital accordion is important to you. IDEAS is THE wave of the future for digital accordion enthusiasts and as the opening page states, this is “A ‘come as you are’ party where digital accordion brings music to life and life to music for all to experience.”
