The Manhattan International Music Competition showcases young classical musicians from around the world. Previous winners have performed at festivals and venues like Berlin Philharmonie and Konzerthaus, Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center, Théâtre des Champs Elysées, Paris Philharmonie, Opera de Paris, Mozarteaum of Salzburg, Mariinsky Theatre and more. Maestro Ivo Pogorelich presided over the competition in which pianists, singers, strings, wind players, and chamber music ensembles participate. The Gala concert featured performances by international winners. 

The Gemini Duo (China/Denmark) won the online Chamber Music category of the Manhattan International Music Competition, held online this year.

The winner’s concert was held live at Carnegie Hall in Manhattan, New York, USA on July 15th, 2023.

The duo featured accordionists Wanchen Zhao and Wanxu Zhao, who are both studying at the Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen, Denmark, with Geir Draugsvoll.
