Rob’s forró music is an easy and fun two-step country dance popular in Brazil’s northeastern region.Rob Curto’s Forró For All trio will be joined on stage by special guest singers Jo Silva Silva and Cissa Paz music.
Rob Curto’s Forró for All is led by accordionist Rob Curto, originally from New York City, and widely lauded as forró’s main ambassador in the United States. Rob is one of the foremost musicians responsible for introducing North American audiences to northeastern Brazilian Music. He was an original member of the band Forro in the Dark along with Mauro Refesco (David Byrne, Red Hot Chili Peppers) and Smokey Hormel (Beck). He is a member of the band Matuto, which he founded with guitarist Clay Ross to explore the cultural intersections between Brazilian music and folk traditions of Appalachia and the American South.
