On March 15, 2017, Tony Lovello presented a special performance under the famous clock at Grand Central Terminal. My fiancé, Dr. Leslie Strong, and Tony’s good friend and student, Rob Trietsch, were there with Tony’s lovely wife and two granddaughters who drove all the way from Kentucky to witness this unique event….. very special because Tony is the first accordionist to perform at Grand Central Terminal in New York City.

Of course his medley included the famous “New York, New York” as well as his patriotic tribute to the USA. A large crowd gathered to listen and enthusiastically applauded his spirited performance. I think that some of them actually and happily missed their trains!

While Tony entertained the commuters with his accordion skills, he was surprised when I went over to a young Italian bride and groom who were having professional wedding photos taken nearby in the Terminal. I invited them to meet Tony and he delighted them with a wonderful rendition of Italian music!

It was an amazing event, one of Tony’s last grand performances taking place in New York City’s Grand Central Terminal.
