On Saturday January 16, 2021 Virtual Accordion Camp IV will take place. Whether you’re an experienced accordion player or just starting out, you are invited to join the fun, camaraderie and inspiration of a camp setting from the comfort of your own home.

The day will feature an afternoon of workshops culminating in a meet-the-artist-style concert with camp staff. You will have the opportunity to learn new skills and expand existing ones in our multi-level Zoom classrooms, with topics ranging from repertoire-building to bellows control to techniques for the left hand. Your instructors, inspired by mutual isolation and the desire to foster community with fellow accordion players, are excited to offer varied approaches that will appeal to a broad spectrum of learners.

Founded in 2020 by Rachel Bell, Alex Cumming, Jeremiah McLane, the virtual camp is geared towards Piano Accordion players, though other accordions are welcome. The tutors are Rachel Bell, Alex Cumming, Jeremiah McLane and Jamie Maschler.

The workshop element will take place on Zoom and the schedule format (below) will be much the same as the September camp with workshops, tune party and social hour. The concert will be broadcast via Facebook Live! This means we will not be selling concert or full day tickets, just workshop tickets, as we will be using the tip jar model during the broadcast. And don’t worry, if you do not have Facebook you will still be able to watch the concert.
