Westmont Philharmonia Accordion Orchestra in Winter Concert

Everyone is invited to a free concert on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 2:PM at the Willia G Rohrer Memorial Library featuring Martha Cannon (Flute) and
presenting accordionist Stanislav Culcicovschi.

The Westmont Philharmonia Accordion Orchestra (WPAO) will perform its annual Winter Concert at the Haddon Township Branch of the Camden County Library in Westmont, NJ. Founded in 1960, the WPAO is under the direction of its founder Stanley Darrow. The WPAO has performed varied programs both nationally and internationally.

Flutist Martha Cannon will add the beautiful timbre of the flute to the intriguing melodies of Borodin’s “In the Hills of Central Asia”. A surprise guest artist, Stanislav Culcicovschi from Moldova, has been added to the program. Mr. Culcicovschi is currently performing throughout the east coast while on a concert tour in the USA. Following this performance he will travel to Chicago for more events.

Included in the concert will be works covering many genres of musical literature. A few of the compositions are:

Slavonic Sketch F. Dobler
Nocturne A. Borodin

Mr. Stanislav Culcicovschi will perform a varied program including
Caesar Franck’s “Prelude”, Music of Moldova, “Dixie” and more.

Members of the above ensemble come from all walks of life and have in common their love of this wonderful instrument. Membership into the ensemble is through audition only.
