This summer, Sam Falcetti decided to augment his digital accordion concert programs with two upcoming classical performers. The first performer was Ella Niemiec, a 10-year-old violinist. Her 14-year-old brother Benjamin Niemiec performed on cello. Both youngsters are members of the Springfield Symphony Youth Orchestra, take piano lessons, and also sing with their church choir.

The students reside in Westfield, MA and still find time with their busy schedules to play sports with the Westfield Little League and Babe Ruth teams. Their guest performances were breath-taking and well received with their audiences. The blend of solo string instruments, accompanied by a 20-piece accordion orchestra was marvelous. Both Ella and Ben hope to play more concerts with the orchestra when they perform on December 31, 2024 at Chatham First Night on Cape Cod with 70 other bands, and next April at the New England Music Festival in Boston, MA.

The New England Digital Accordion Orchestra (NEDAO) is the nation’s first ever digital accordion orchestra and is a leading force in the evolution of the accordion. Roland digital accordions, which first appeared in 2004, are a far cry from the old family squeezeboxes. The orchestra performs popular songs from a wide array of genres. The NEDAO was formed in 2015 and is conducted by internationally recognized accordionist and music educator Anselmo (Sam) Falcetti, of Wilbraham, MA and South Pond, Brookfield.
The NEDAO is available for performances at summer concerts series, fairs, holiday celebrations, and special events. To arrange a performance, or for further information, please contact Sam Falcetti at 413-204-5522 or at samfalcetti@gmail.com.
