A rare musical encounter comes to Miami when Vincent Dubois, titular organist of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, and internationally acclaimed accordion virtuoso Marie-Andrée Joerger bring their organ and accordion duo to FIU for their first official U.S. tour together.

The concert takes place at the Herbert and Nicole Wertheim Performing Arts Center, Miami, FL on Tuesday, October 20,2026 at 7:30 PM. It was organized by FIU Wertheim School of Music & Performing Arts.
Performed on the Sydell Ida Wertheim Concert Organ, this FIU Music Festival program reimagines music of sweeping color, elegance and dance through an unexpected pairing of instruments capable of both grandeur and intimacy.
The evening opens with Khachaturian’s brilliant “Masquerade Waltz” before moving through the refined French sound world of Debussy’s “Petite Suite”, Fauré’s “Dolly Suite” and Poulenc’s “Suite Française”. Bartók’s “Romanian Folk Dances” adds earthy rhythm and folk-inspired vitality, leading into the modern pulse of Patrice Caratini’s “La valse des crayons”.
For Miami audiences, the program’s tango-infused finale offers a special charge: Richard Galliano’s “Tango pour Claude” and Piazzolla’s “Invierno Porteño” and “La Muerte del Ángel” bring the evening to a close with music of elegance, tension and unmistakable dramatic force.
Inventive, virtuosic and deeply atmospheric, this concert reveals the organ and accordion in thrilling conversation—expanding familiar repertoire into something fresh, vivid and entirely unexpected.
