Donna Kaspar, President of the San Diego Accordion Club, shared her love of the accordion with the community by creating a meaningful display at her public library. Donna both honored the day (WAD) and educated the public of the significance of the accordion in our world.

Donna shares, “For the Month of May, (and World Accordion Day) I reserved one of the large display cabinets in the lobby of our beautiful Point Loma neighborhood branch of the San Diego Public Library. It was easy to reserve, and it happened that May was available when I first inquired back in February.
In planning, I assembled my accordion “coffee table” books, a couple of accordion novels, a couple of method books, and some attractive sheet music, as well as a few ceramic and other trinkets. I also prepared small posters of Accordion History, 4 World-famous Accordionists, and the international, national, and local organizations including our San Diego club. I included two photos of world-class performers and QR codes so visitors could tap into a couple of performances. And of course, there’s a couple of accordions on display. It was fun putting this together.”
