The Albuquerque Accordion Extravaganza Festival, held in May 2025 was a big success. Starring organizers Kim and Dan Christian, the event included an Accordion Orchestra enjoyed by all.
Kim and Dan Christian share, “There were huge improvements in clean, fast finger technique, articulation, bellows control, performance and differentiation between several styles of music including Swing, Pop, Classical, and even Funk!!There was great camaraderie between this group from 12 different states across the US! Several folks performed solos or duets on the Open Mic nights and did a fabulous job. This really shows how versatile the accordion really is. Everyone had a blast!”
Dan and Kim Christian, along with drummer extraordinaire Rich Delabio, opened up the concert and play for the first half of the program. They had an extensive repertoire prepared for this concert including just about every style of music you can think of including Aaron Copland’s “Hoe Down” and John Williams’ “Superman”
