Ben Rosenblum

Ben Rosenblum brings his award-winning, genre-bending compositional style to the Nebula Project, a six-piece ensemble featuring a diverse cast of New York City’s most in-demand jazz musicians. He has toured extensively with his trio and sextet throughout the United States, including multiple tours to the Northeast, Midwest, South and West Coast, as well as internationally in Canada, Europe and Japan.

He was a featured soloist at Carnegie Hall’s Stern-Perelman Auditorium – with Reona Ito’s New York Harmonic Band – and has appeared at the Appel Room at Lincoln Center, Kuumbwa Jazz Center, Ravinia, Himawari-No-Sato Concert Hall in Yokohama, Bird’s Eye in Basel and the Library of Congress. Rosenblum’s second trio album in 2018, River City, featured the title track as part of their JAZZIZ Magazine’s Best of Fall 2018 CD.

Ben shares some of his performances including:

• Friday, November 1st: Free admission show at the Neighborhood Church (West Village) with Eduardo Belo and his band (8pm). Featuring an all-star lineup including Itai Kriss on flute, Dennis Bulhoes on drums and Rogério Boccato on percussion.

• Saturday, November 2nd: Forró appearance at HouseWatch – with his wife Yoko Sano playing triangle! Part of Forró New York’s Autumn Festival.

• Sunday, November 3rd: Ben Rosenblum Trio at St. Peter’s Church, 5-6:PM playing 4-5 tunes in between the service – it’s always a beautiful event. With my good friends Marty Jaffe on bass and Ben Zweig on drums. Free admission.

• Saturday, November 9th: With Eduardo Belo and the same band from the 1st at one of my favorite clubs, Lunatico in Brooklyn. Always crowded so come an hour early if you want a table.

• Sunday, November 10th: Ben Zweig’s Big Beet band at Radegast in Williamsburg.

• Sunday, November 17th (3-5:30pm): At Barbès in Brooklyn playing Choro with Regional Samaúma.

• Sunday, November 17th (7-10pm): my regular solo piano night at the Wallace Hotel.

• Tuesday, November 26th: Livio Almeida and his large ensemble at the Jazz Loft in Stonybrook.

“In addition to these New York area shows, I’ll also be doing a special benefit concert in San Francisco on Saturday, November 23rd with Rickie Lee Jones! We’ll be performing at the Saint Joseph’s Art Society to raise money for the non-profit Bread and Roses.”
