Dr. William Schimmel has released his latest single, “Symphony in Hard Times”, depicting the climate of the times leading to hope. It draws influence from the American Spirit of Roy Harris, Charles Ives and Stephen Foster. It is available through Amazon, Spotify, YouTube and many others pending.
William Schimmel holds a BM, MS and DMA degrees from The Juilliard School In composition, and a Diploma from The Neupauer Conservatory in Performance (Accordion) and Composition.
He has performed with virtually every ensemble in New York from The New York Philharmonic, The Metropolitan Opera, Jazz at Lincoln Center, most major symphonies in the U.S. as well as The Kirov, Vienna and Israel. His Tango Project CDS have reached #1 on the Billboard charts along withThe Stereo Review Album of the Year award and Grammy nominations.

He can be seen and heard in “Scent of a Woman” starring Al Pacino (who received an Oscar). One of his current CD’s, “The Theater of the Accordion” features trumpeter Wynton Marsalis and reached #1 on the Amazon charts (performing Schimmel’s 6 minute Tango version of “Mahler 9”).
Tom Waits stated: “Bill Schimmel doesn’t play the accordion, he IS an accordion.”Dr. Schimmel’s works are currently being archived at the Lincoln Center Performing Arts Library. Dr. Schimmel presents a yearly virtual series of Master Classes and Concerts moving into it’s 32nd year. He is married to Micki Goodman, a dancer, choreographer and video artist. They have one son, Michael, a visual artist and drummer.
