Jim Rommel to Perform for Alabama Accordion Association in April

The Alabama Accordion Association sponsors a yearly concert. Accordionist Jim Rommel will be featured artist for the Alabama Accordion Association Concert Series on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 2:PM at the
Brookwood Baptist Church
3449 Overton Road
Mountain Brook, Alabama

Jim Rommel is a professional accordionist and singer who dazzles audiences with his excellent musicianship and dynamic entertainment style. Jim has been a featured entertainer at the Bavarian Grill in Plano, Texas for the past 31 years. He has also been the featured performer at concerts with North Texas Symphonic Bands and Choirs where the accordion was the centerpiece in the band/choral arrangements.

Jim’s CD, “Proust! A German-American Celebration” has been widely acclaimed in the accordion and polka community including wonderful endorsements from Myron Floren and Frank Yankovic. Jim’s repertoire covers a wide spectrum of musical styles: German, Czech, French, Italian, Jazz, Swing, Big band standards, and Classical music.

But most of all, Jim loves to surprise audiences by playing and singing in musical styles such as Classic Rock, Pop, Country, and Musical Theatre.

Jim has a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from the University of North Texas as well as a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Texas A&M. Jim began his career as a high school band director prior to entering Information Technology where he now is an IT Executive working with clients in the manufacturing industry. He is also an educator, teaching accordion techniques to aspiring musicians. His contributions to the accordion community have earned him recognition and respect among peers and fans alike.

Admission to this concert is free. President Frank Caravella invites all to attend.
