Joseph Natoli just finished the first of six 2-hour Zoom sessions for its beginner Freebass Masterclass series to be held weekly on Sundays at 3:PM ET through November 2, 2025.

No worries about missing the first session (or any for that matter), since all six sessions are recorded and available for continued reference or download anytime registrants would like to watch them. No previous experience or knowledge of freebass is required.
Joseph Natoli has performed, competed, recorded, and taught freebass since 1967. As a result many people have asked him to consider doing this freebass masterclass series because there is still interest in freebass in the US and North America.
Freebass is a left-hand accordion bass system that was all the rage in the US and North America from the 1950s to the 1970s, when interest started to wane. However, all of Europe, Scandanvia, China, and Russia still consider the accordion freebass a powerfully emancipating instrument for all genres of music and that legacy has continued to the present day.
Freebass has 4.5 to 5 octaves of individual notes (52-58) that enable the formation of any chord type, accompaniment pattern, or any scale, while greatly increasing the kinds of music (original, arranged, or transcribed) that can be performed.
A detailed syllabus is provided for this masterclass and it is anticipated that registrants will be playing freebass by the 2nd session and playing quality music by the end of the sixth session. Also, this masterclass series helps remove some of the mystery and/or trepidation folks might have had about this left-hand bass system, and will discover that it is quite easy and logical.
After registration, the Zoom meeting links as well as the OneDrive links for the class music, materials, and class recordings will be provided. Come join us if you have always wanted to either play or at least familiarize yourself with freebass accordion!
