Accordionist Ksenija Sidorova will perform at Carnegie Hall in NYC on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 7:30 PM at Weill Recital Hall.

Experience the Carnegie Hall recital debut of the “revelatory” Ksenija Sidorova (The New York Times). With “breathtaking virtuosity” and an expansive vision that “demonstrates the remarkable potential … and expressive range” of her instrument (The Observer), Sidorova performs works both written and wholly reimagined for the instrument, grounding the accordion within centuries of classical music composition by J. S. Bach, Albéniz, Piazzolla, Philip Glass, Franck Angelis, and many more leading contemporaries.

Ksenija Sidorova is a Latvian classical accordionist, renowned as one of the world’s leading ambassadors for the accordion and recognized for her expressive performances and impressive virtuosity.

Although she does not come from a family of professional musicians, her grandmother—who played a folk instrument called the garmoshka—introduced her to the accordion at age six. Sidorova began formal training with Marija Gasele in Latvia, studying at a local conservatory for ten years.

She continued her studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London under Owen Murray, graduating with distinction and earning several prestigious awards, including the Philharmonia Orchestra’s Martin Musical Scholarship and the Worshipful Company of Musicians Silver Medal.

Accordion virtuoso Ksenija Sidorova, accompanied by the Sinfonietta Riga string quintet, presents a breathtaking performance of Pietro Roffi’s Hysteria. Recorded live at the Great Amber Concert Hall (Lielais Dzintars) in Liepāja, Latvia.

Sidorova’s career is marked by her efforts to expand the possibilities and image of the classical accordion, regularly performing classical works from Bach to Piazzolla, as well as contemporary pieces written for her.

Sidorova continues to premiere new works, participate in major festivals, and is recognized both in concert and on recordings for her dynamic artistry. She was named an Associate (2016) and Fellow (2021) of the Royal Academy of Music.

Discography and Awards: Her albums include Classical Accordion (2011), Fairy Tales (2013), Carmen (2016), Piazzolla Reflections (2021), and Crossroads (2024).
