National Accordion 2026 Conference

The NAA 2026 Conference  takes place from  March 18–21, 2026 at the National Accordion 2026 Conference, TownePlace Marriott Hotel Suites, 503 East US Highway 80,Forney, Texas. NAA President Norman Seaton shares, “The 2026 event has been a bit different to organize as we shift from a full convention to a more streamlined conference. And for the first time in our 40‑year history, we’re officially teaming up with the Forney Arts Council (FAC) and the Forney Chamber of Commerce. We have kept such organizations in the loop in past years, but 2026 is the first time we’re truly collaborating.”

2026 Theme: Group Training and Performances

Activities include:

Spotlight Events: The Fun Band, Accordion Orchestra, and Jam Sessions

Band Camp will be a collaborative experience for accordionists of all levels. 

The Fun Band offers: Inclusive Group Rehearsals, Recognizable Tunes for All Skill Levels, Relaxed and supportive environment, Designed to apply and expand your musical skills

Expert Direction by Dick Albreski who is a seasoned performer known for his tact, patience, and performance-enhancing tips.

Orchestra Opportunities:

The Gordon Kohl Orchestra offers advanced musicianship training with arrangements for all levels. Non accordion acoustic instruments are welcome to participate. 

Organized “Jam Sessions”:

Saturday Evening Grand Concert Finale which will be a joyful celebration of music and community.

The Fun Band will open the Saturday evening grand concert. The Accordion Orchestra will close the concert.

Gordon Kohl (photo right) invites accordionists — both acoustic and digital  — to participate in this wonderful orchestra experience.

■ Musicianship Skills You’ll Develop: Playing in an orchestra, Finger dexterity, Musical expression, Playing in time and following the beat, Rhythm skill practice, Following a conductor, Understanding and using accordion reed registrations

■ Orchestra Repertoire: “Memory” – from “Cats”, “Let It Be”, “Fly Me to the Moon”, “Oblivion” – Astor Piazzolla, “Rocky Mountain Polka”, “Blue Note Blues”

■ Rehearsals & Zoom Sessions: Rehearsal sessions at the conference, plus Three Zoom sessions in advance to learn and refine the music arrangements to be performed at the Saturday evening concert. Each song will feature one or more skills to enhance the arrangement. Music harmony, Chord usage, Broken chords, Note fills, will be explored
