Stas Venglevski performed at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall on February 20, 2025 as part of a Sound Espressivo and Price Attractions show. It was a performance filled with his expressive and virtuosic playing.
We were treated to a program of his original compositions and other works including: “Asturias” by Issac Albeniz; “Silver Streams” by Stas Venglevski; “Animals Suite” by Stas including “Dance of Giraffes”, “Cheetah’s Chase”, “Tortoise Lament”, “Cockfight”, “Mice Party Polka”. The music evoked playful images of the animals’ personalities and “La Campanella” by Franz Liszt reached an audience thoroughly mesmerized by Stas’ sheer joy in presenting his program.

After intermission, Stas performed his composition, “Rondo-Fantasy for Accordion and Orchestra”, accompanied by The New York Chamber Players with Giacomo Franci conducting. Again, Stas received long, appreciative applause from the audience.

Megumi Hata shares, “I had the privilege of attending the concert at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. It was a heartfelt experience to see not only an accordion performance on one of the most prestigious stages in NY but also, to hear Stas live at his best.“

Stas Venglevski’s compositions for accordion and accordion and orchestra opened the eyes of a new audience; you could barely hear a pin drop from the first to the last note of his appearance. The audience was mesmerized by what they heard.

It was also good to see accordion colleagues Rita Barnea, Kevin Friedrich, AAA President Don Gerundo and Mary & Mario Tacco! I’m happy to be a small part of the accordion world and to know so many wonderful people!”

Stas shared, “Magical last night at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall! So many talents shared the stage with me. It feels good. Thank you all, friends, for attending the concert and for your support!”
Stas will perform in South Africa on March 8, 2025. Stas said, ‘Playing as a soloist with a symphony orchestra is something truly to look forward to. I will be soloing with the Free State Symphony Orchestra in Bloemfontein, South Africa, under the baton of Daniel Boico. A new work (for me) is “Carpe Diem” in 3 movements for Bayan and Symphony Orchestra by Alexey Shor, and “Rondo-Fantasy”, my original work, is also included in the program.” Be sure to attend his concerts!
