The Klezmatics New Album Release and 40th Anniversary Tour

The Klezmatics’ new album is “We Were Made For These Times”, a 40th-anniversary album that blends Yiddish soul with punk, gospel, jazz, and folk to create songs that are joyful, defiant, and profoundly human. This album is a cross-cultural collaboration rooted in protest, resilience, spiritual endurance, and radical joy, featuring an array of guest artists including:

    • La Manga: Afro-Colombian Vocal & Percussion Collective
      • Joshua Nelson: The King of Kosher Gospel
      • Lavender Light Gospel Choir: NYC’s Black LGBTQ+ Gospel Choir
      • Janis Siegel: Grammy-winning jazz vocalist
      • Sofía Rei: Argentine Experimental Folk Vocalist
      • Enver İzmaylov: Crimean Tatar guitarist
      • James Brandon Lewis: Tenor saxophone
      • William Parker: Bass

      • The album, produced by Danny Blume, explores themes of migration, labor, war, belonging, and collective responsibility through 12 tracks, including:
